Challenges 06:48
The moonlit road is uninviting Yet it comfortably sets me free If I feel uncertain I keep riding Between who I was and who I’ll be If I’m doubtful I keep riding No shame in feeling weak These are steps on a healing streak Time will do what it has to It’ll do it must do I’ve got my vision I’ve got my aim But I think in the end it’s all the same I can’t pretend that I don’t feel There’s something else behind the wheel I put my feelings on the side Until I know more and can decide Time will do what it has to It’ll do it must do Purpose is a funny thing It seems to come and go Keep riding, keep riding with the flow

With vapor breaths that curl like smoke To myself I softly spoke With every waking hour Spent in the rain In deep contemplation It’s all the same I feel that I should be Closer to the answers ‘Cause I don’t want to hear That there’s a bigger desert Outside of this one I feel that I should be Closer to the truth I gave up chasing just the thrill And I don’t want your sugar pill It’s the anthem of the thinking mind To constantly be asking why Maybe an answer would kill all the beauty Of chaotic people with curious minds Or worse yet - the impact of finding out That there actually is no why I feel that I should be closer to the answers ‘Cause I don’t want to hear That there’s a bigger desert Outside of this one I feel that I should be Closer to the truth

Little Mass 04:05
In the middle of a fever dream My body left my mind And floated past my eyelids To leave the world of things behind Through swirling ponds of memories In a state of little mass I felt myself everywhere Diffusing like a gas I’m not mistaking escape for an art I’m not gonna be waiting for my life to start I know what I think I know I am The most significant speck of dust

Sand in my eyes And brown smoke in the sky Everyone likes to say That they’re too young to die Try not to stare Not to cry As the blips go passing by And fading out Into radio silence Fire There is a fire in town All of our childhoods are burning down Better keep a straight face now Try not to stare Not to cry As the blips go passing by And fading out Into radio silence

Wolves gather overhead And I wonder Is this storm the one I’ve been waiting for For so long Shadow’s loomed over this A stranger on a precipice Lightning cracks and he falls in Your knowing hands shape the image only you can see Locked in your mind You’re the gate and you’re the key I’m molded into ideality Lost in your creativity My throat clamped till I can’t breathe No room left for my words anyway I breathe in the Ether Whirling around me - it feels like shit It slows to a viscous sludge I’m drowning in it Demoralized and minimalized Cleave a new mouth, amplified Fingers punch holes, I play my tune Thoughts spew out, expressed with new volume Your knowing hands shape the image only you can see Locked in your mind You’re the gate and you’re the key I’m molded into ideality lost in your creativity My throat clamped till I can’t breathe No room left for my words anyway

Mankind divides between the kings and the pawns But in good and evil it stands indivisible We make choices but they make us as well And how we side is hard to tell When life rests upon circumstances Tidal waves, the storms are near They are coming - reality will shear Deconstruct yourself atom by atom Block by block Feel the shock of life Materializing A new existence

Sparrow Rock 07:19
Oil lamps at Sparrow Rock Minds go missing in the smoke Bodies gather down at Sparrow Rock And they’re all dancing in the smoke The towns put paint on their faces And make them live inside the pocket of a cape Everything becomes so clear here And so does every human shape Hey you sitting at the vanity, tell me Tell us what it feels like to be real They would all drive down to the grounds Headlight after headlight going out Hush now - don’t make a sound Until the drums start ringing out Hey you sitting at the vanity, tell me Tell us what it feels like to be real No mirror in that place Except the clarity of night As their thoughts weaved around them They all restored their sight Hush now - not a sound Until the drums start ringing out

Dim Suns 05:11
We are born with eyes of the sunrise To illuminate the paths ahead And then the good neighbors come To turn the dim-switch ‘til they’re nearly dead Then we’re left bottling up inside us Objections, projections, Of what we think is around us When it’s not The dim suns their eyes had become Condemned them to a guessing game But since they’ve done it to one another There’s no room for who is to blame The dim suns their eyes had become We are just porcupines in a winter deathtrap And herein lies the conundrum Do we huddle together while our quills go in for the kill? Or do we succumb to whatever may come? And so we dull our quills and silently pray That the other may in time come to do the same The dim suns their eyes had become Condemned them to a guessing game But since they’ve done it to one another There is no room for who is to blame The dim suns their eyes had become

In the sun I Left my clothes to dry And while I lied there naked I fell into this trance The stones along the ground Cut into my feet And the smokestacks, coughing They bowed to me What do you do When the telephone rings? When you’re all cluttered in by things, things, things Parading around Without the uniforms Of a busy world Letting our instincts drive us We could drive anywhere Anywhere We’re out of touch with our urges A compass needle undecided We have in us instruments more accurate By which we should be guided I followed and I emerged On the other side Of a cataclysmic night The shades striped sunlight on the wall And everything was alright Immeasurable directions To an unknown destination
