lyrics

We are born with eyes of the sunrise
To illuminate the paths ahead
And then the good neighbors come
To turn the dim-switch ‘til they’re nearly dead
Then we’re left bottling up inside us
Objections, projections,
Of what we think is around us
When it’s not

The dim suns their eyes had become
Condemned them to a guessing game
But since they’ve done it to one another
There’s no room for who is to blame
The dim suns their eyes had become

We are just porcupines in a winter deathtrap
And herein lies the conundrum
Do we huddle together while our quills go in for the kill?
Or do we succumb to whatever may come?
And so we dull our quills and silently pray
That the other may in time come to do the same

The dim suns their eyes had become
Condemned them to a guessing game
But since they’ve done it to one another
There is no room for who is to blame
The dim suns their eyes had become
